THE OPEN EFFECTS ASSOCIATION WELCOMES PLUG-IN DEVELOPERS TO ATTEND ANNUAL MEETING AT NAB 2016
Developers Discuss Future of OFX for VFX Plug-ins
LAS VEGAS— The Open Effects Association (OFX), a non-profit organization that promotes open standards across the visual effects community, today announced it will be holding its annual general meeting on Monday, April 18 at the 2016 NAB show. The meeting will be held in South Hall at Blackmagic Design booth at 6:00 PM (booth number SL217, in the conference room area).
Attendance is open to all, and attendees will have an opportunity to network with plug-in developers from the top visual effects providers.
Founded in 2004, The Open Effects Association was created to encourage open communication between hosts and plug-in developers, while establishing a uniform specification built to benefit artists and users. The API is owned by the association. By joining OFX, members can network with fellow plug-in developers and collaborate to extend the OFX API.

The Open Effects Association (OFX) is a non-profit company that aims to develop and promote open standards across the visual effects community. The Association’s focus is to improve the OpenFX image processing plug-in standard to reduce the level of development and support required for plug-ins across different compositing and editing host platforms. Current voting members include: Assimilate, Blackmagic Design, Digital Film Tools, FilmLight, The Foundry, GenArts, Hitfilm, Imagineer Systems, Snell Advanced Media, RE:Vision Effects, and Sony. Membership also includes open source software tuttleOFX and Inria Natron.
