Press Release

Open Effects (OFX) at NAB 2019 - Monday April 8, 10:00 AM, Room N243
Published

Date: 22-Mar-2019

Monday: 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM
Room N243 - April 8  (North Hall)

The Open Effects Standard is widely used for visual effects (VFX) and video processing systems. OpenFX provides specifications to  connect video editing and compositing applications with plug-ins.  The popular API is implemented by many companies including Assimilate, Blackmagic Design, BorisFX, Digital Anarchy, Digital Film Tools, Filmlight, FXHome, Magix, Natron, NewBlue, RE:Vision Effects, SilhouetteFX, Sony, The Foundry and TuttleOFX. Join us and find out how  we can improve your work and share your needs and thoughts for the future of OFX.

Attendance is open to all interested in VFX: product designers and developers, writers, trainers (people who have to document features) and market leaders, VFX supervisors, technical directors, and resellers. Attendees will have an opportunity to network with plug-in developers from the top visual effects providers.

Agenda:

  • Pluginologist Michele Terpstra (Toolfarm) will lead the meeting with an overview of available OFX plugins, including what's new.
  • Brian Fox (BorisFX) and Pierre Jasmin (RE:Vision Effects) will follow and show some of their plugins in different OFX hosts.
  • Dennis Adams (Sony) and Peter Huisma (Assimilate) -- both application developers -- will follow-up with a general discussion of what it means to support OFX, where it lives, what it is, who owns it, and how to join the organization.
  • We will follow up with the Annual General Meeting.
